With enough votes your voice will be heard. The new Treaty gives EU citizens the possibility to directly influence EU policy-making. Under the Citizens' Initiative as laid down in the Treaty of Lisbon, the European Commission must come up with a proposal if a citizen obtains one million votes for his/her proposal.
